Nepean Aquatic Center Eva Bory's Swim School
Water babies are happy babies and starting your child's swimming journey from 6 months of age provides them with the very best start in life. Swimming lessons improve gross motor skills, create positive associations with water through songs and games, improve strength, co-ordination and balance, and provide a quality bonding experience with your baby. Lessons begin to teach your baby valuable safety skills such as returning to the side of the pool and being able to exit the water independently, with the added benefit of promoting healthy appetites and restful sleep. Most importantly, swimming lessons make your baby safer. Drowning is still the leading cause of accidental death in Australian children under 5, and lessons are recommended from 6 months of age. We believe in encouraging a love for the water by building water confidence from an early age and strive to create a positive and enjoyable experience for both babies and parents. Achievement of each skill is celebrated and tracked with a sticker for the child's progression certificate.
* Infants swim with a parent or carer, maximum class ratio of 7 students per instructor, or 12 students with 2 instructors (Saturdays and Sundays at Nepean Aquatic Centre only).
