NEW FREE COMMUNITY WATER SAFETY SHOW LAUNCHES TO KEEP LOCAL KIDS SAFER AROUND THE WATER!

Nepean Aquatic Centre and Ready Set Dance and Kids Alive, Do the 5 are excited to announce that they have partnered to bring a brand new Water Safety show to your local primary or preschool!

Teaching children about water safety through stories, song, dance, animation and puppetry keeps children engaged and actively participating in a performance that promotes the lifesaving skills as outlined in the Kids Alive, Do the 5 messaging – Fence the Pool, Shut the Gate, Learn To Swim, Supervise, and learn Resuscitation – plus beach and sunscreen safety, and an introduction to CPR.

Julie Sheldrake from Nepean Aquatic Centre said, “We have been providing free water safety education to local preschools and daycare centres for nearly a decade, using the wonderful resources from Kids Alive, Do the 5 to engage the children. We were excited to learn that Kids Alive had recently partnered with Ready, Set Dance, and thrilled that PAWS Studio were keen to partner with us to deliver these Water Safety shows to our local community. Nepean Aquatic Centre and Eva Borys Swim School are trusted by the local community to deliver high quality swimming lessons, and PAWS Studio are the best in the area for dance, circus and performance training. We can’t wait to team up and visit children in our area to deliver these important swim safety messages in a new and fun way!”

Emma Lawrence from Kids Alive said it was wonderful to see so many local organisations committed to helping share important water safety messages.

“Our goal is to ensure there are zero drownings in the most vulnerable under 5s and it is heartwarming to see organisations like Nepean spearheading action to help achieve this mission,” she said.

Safety is of paramount importance, and we need to educate re swim safety messages from the earliest possible age – which is where our Pre & Primary School and Childcare Centre Water Safety Visits come in!

Provided as a free service, we will come to your school / childcare centre with our mascot – Paddles The Platypus – and read stories, sing songs, talk about water safety and have a meet and greet with Paddles.

We leave the school / childcare centre with posters, CD/ DVD and story book to continue educating regarding water safety, and leave the children with a fun, positive, happy memory – which is the best way for them to learn these important lessons!
